Student government is hosting a Cellar grand-opening party.

After months of construction and repair, The Cellar is finally open again.

Tuesday Dec. 9 from 11a.m. to 3p.m. there will be music and food provided by student government.

Tacos and water will be available for $1 and there will be music by Brett Wiscons.

There will also be drawings for three $10 Taco Bell gift cards, a $25 Sunoco gas card, and a large box of Whitman’s chocolate.

The student lounge on campus was closed during reconstruction after a pipe burst last year.

Cellar closed for construction

Water damaged was dealt with last winter with a temporary solution.

The foundation was repaired and hard wood flooring replaced the old tile.

Now that The Cellar has reopened students Kenny Ray and Brent Borcsani now have their hang out spot back.

“It looks nicer than it did last year,” Ray said.

The renovations just came to a close in the past week with less than a month left in the semester.

“I don’t know why they waited until fall to do the renovations instead of over the summer,” Borcsani said.

The Cellar, which is home to the Student Government office, can be entered through the A building lobby near the bookstore.

The relaxed environment offers couches, pool tables, ping pong tables, and televisions for students to enjoy.

The Cellar is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m to 8 p.m and on Fridays until 1:00 p.m.
