Meyer Theater sets the stage

From hard rockers to country fans, everyone can find a concert at the Meyer Theater this fall and winter.

Fall Concert Series 
Starting off the fall concert list is Jim Brickman,  who is celebrating 20 years of music making by performing The Platinum Tour. He will be at MCCC at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17. Admission is $27 for reserved seating and $37 for VIP seating. 
The Community Symphonic Band and the Agora Chorale will be performing their first concert of the season at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20. Admission is free. 
The Highwaymen Live: A Tribute, will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22. Admission is $27 for reserved seating and $37 for VIP seating. This performance will showcase songs from impersonators of The Highwaymen: Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson.
A performance by Davina and The Vagabonds will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6. Admission is $15 for reserved seating and $25 for VIP seating. This blues band will perform songs inspired by famous jazz musicians from Aretha Franklin to Fats Domino. 
MCCC’s Prelude Chorus will perform at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8. The Agora Chorale will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, and the Symphony Band will perform at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15. 

A tribute to Highwaymen Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, and Willie Nelson is scheduled in November.

Winter Concert Series 
In January, the Classic Albums Live – Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon” concert is being performed at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24. Admission is $27 for reserved seating and $37 for VIP seating. This concert will feature the entirety of “Dark Side of the Moon” exactly how Pink Floyd recorded it, along with additional Pink Floyd songs. 
On Friday, Feb. 6, The Marshall Tucker Band will be performing at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $33 for reserved seating and $43 for VIP seating. This band performs songs in the country and rock genres.
The Symphonic Band and the Agora Chorale will be performing the ‘Collage’ concert on Sunday, Feb. 22 at 2:30 p.m. and at 7:30 p.m. Admissions are $5 for reserved seating and the concert will feature local community talent as well as the band and chorale. 
The 28th Annual Black History Month Blues Series concert will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28. This event is free. It caps a whole month dedicated to the blues. 
    On Tuesday, March 17, at 7 p.m. Gilbert Gottfried will be at MCCC. He is best known for his role as the parrot Iago in Disney’s “Alladdin”. Reserved seating is $22 and VIP seating is $32.

The voice of Aladdin’s Iago will be visiting the Meyer Theater. While he was the voice of a Disney character his stand-up show is not recommended for children.
