Pull out a pair of walking shoes and bundle up because a hike may bring relief to a stressed student.

For students with time between classes, MCCC offers a well-groomed trail that is both easy to get to and easy to follow.

The trail offers fitness stations along the way that give instructions as to what exercise should be completed.

These workouts include stretching tips as well as muscle strengthening moves like lunges.

The outdoor fitness trail is open to the students as well as the general public to promote good health.

With arrows pointing people in the right direction, it would be almost impossible to get lost.

For trail blazers who are looking for a more adventurous traveling experience, a trip to Sterling State Park could be another option.

It is a twenty-minute drive to the park from campus.

The enterance to the park is lined with trees, which may give travelers a sense of calmness.

In the summer, bird watchers flock to the park to take the perfect picture.

Sterling State Park, which is Lake Erie’s only Michigan state park, offers one mile of lakeshore with wildlife walks and six miles of trails.

The Sterling-Marsh Trail is six miles long and the Sterling-River Raisin Heritage Trail is 1.6 miles long.

The park requires a recreation passport that can be obtained at the Secretary of State or the park's office.

The park's office is open Monday – Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with lunch from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.

For Michigan registered vehicles, a recreational passport can be purchased for $11, a day pass for $9, and a seasonal pass for $32.

For more information on MCCC's fitness trail, students can contact the Informational desk in the A Building at (734) 242-7300 and for more information on Sterling State Park, visitors can call the park's office at (734)-289-2715.
