MCCC holds Emergency Preparedness Week

MCCC is holding an Emergency Preparedness Week, starting Monday, Nov. 30.

Throughout the week, workshops, which will last approximately one hour, will be held in various locations around campus.

The sessions will focus on what students, faculty, and staff should do if a dangerous event were to happen on campus.

Some of the material covered will include The "Shots Fired" emergency actions video, as well as security personel providing information.

There will also be a Q&A sessions in which students, among others, will have the chance to ask specific questions relating to on-campus emergencies.

The workshops will cover a wide range of emergency-related topics, such as MCCC's Emergency Notification System, and the Violent Threat Management Plan, among others.

These workshops will provide vital training steps towards MCCC becoming well-prepared for any sort of on-campus emergency.

In the wake of recent school shootings, like the Oregon community college incident, workshops like these are important for students to attend.

The full schedule of workshops is as follows:

Monday, Nov. 30, at 12:30 and 5 p.m. in the MCCC Dining Hall.

Wednesday, Dec. 2 at 10 a.m. at the Whitman Center in Temperance

Wednesday, Dec. 2 and Thursday, Dec. 3 at 12:30 p.m. in the La-Z-Boy Center, Meyer Theater on Main Campus
